Jackob Chat — ask your recordings anything
AI chat that answers from your own transcripts, with timestamps you can click.
Jackob Chat lets you ask questions about your recordings in plain language — one recording, a whole project, or everything you have ever uploaded — and get answers grounded in what was actually said. Every answer cites the exact moment: click a timestamp and the player jumps there.
It is not a general-purpose assistant. It only knows your transcripts and your Jackob Summaries; it does not search the web, and it will tell you when the answer is not in your recordings.
What you can ask
- "What did we decide about the budget?" — decisions, action items, open questions
- "When did Dana mention the deadline?" — who said what, and when
- "Summarize the second half of this meeting" — summaries of any part
- "Draft a follow-up e-mail with the action items" — notes, minutes, e-mails from the transcript
- "Which of my recordings talk about the Berlin project?" — across a project or all your transcripts
- "Translate what the customer said at the end" — passages in any of the 98 languages
Three scopes
- This transcript
- The whole recording is read. Best for precise questions, quotes and summaries of one meeting, lecture or interview.
- This project
- All recordings in a project. Jackob Chat first finds the relevant passages across them, then answers and tells you which recording each citation comes from.
- All my transcripts
- Everything in your account. Same approach: find the relevant moments, then answer. For "what is this recording about?" questions, a Jackob Summary is the better tool and the chat will say so.
How a conversation works
- Type a question and send. You see "Reading… Thinking… Writing…" while the answer is produced — usually 5–15 seconds, longer for very long recordings.
- Ask follow-ups in the same conversation; you can type the next question while the previous answer is still being written.
- Answers are in the language of your question — ask in Spanish about an English recording and you get Spanish.
- Rate any answer with thumbs up or down; it helps us improve. Rename or delete conversations any time.

A question that fails or that you stop is not counted. Allowances reset with your billing period and are shown in Settings → AI.
Your data
- To answer, the transcript text of the recording(s) in scope, your question and the earlier turns of the conversation are sent to OpenAI, which processes them for us. Never your audio or video files, your name or your e-mail address.
- Your data is not used to train OpenAI’s models. OpenAI keeps the text for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it.
- Conversations are stored in your account for as long as the recording exists, are included in your data export, and are deleted with the recording or your account.
- Answers are AI-generated and may be incomplete or wrong — always check the cited timestamps.
