How accurate is Jackob in transcribing text?

Accepted Answer

As with any AI tool, there is no 100% accuracy guarantee. Here too, it might make mistakes or miss some words, but generally speaking it's accurate most of the time.

How long it takes to transcribe an audio/video file?

Accepted Answer

Other websites use "small" models that provide faster transcription but much less accuracy.

We on the other hand, use a "large" model for maximum accuracy.

Transcription takes roughly 15-20 minutes for one hour of audio/video. Sometimes a bit less and sometimes a bit more. It depends on many factors from your side and our side:

From your side: The size of the file, the length/duration of the file, the quality of the audio, how noisy the audio is, the format of the file, your ISP's upload speed.

From our side: Processing speed, model size & architecture, available compute resources, system load & queueing.

Jackob does its absolute best to transcribe fast and accurately, while showing you its progress for each transcription job.

How does the subscription plans hours use is calculated?

By the audio duration.

For example, say you're on the Plus Subscription Plan which is 10 hours...
You uploaded and transcribed one file which is 3 hours long in audio duration – this means you now have 7 hours left to use in your plan.

What file formats can I upload and what quality is recommended?

Accepted Answer

We recommend uploading files that have good quality, normal speakers volume and are noise-free as much as possible, for the best transcription results.

Every file that you upload, gets converted to MP3 in 320 kbps – the highest quality, for the best playback experience.

The following file types are supported:
• Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC
• Video: MP4, MOV, AVI

* Audio and video file size is limited to 5GB. Also, audio file duration is limited to 10 hours, and video file duration is limited to 4 hours.

In the future we might support more formats.
